Creative Blog Hop!

Blog Hop 8

This week, I am so honored and excited to participate in a Creative Blog Hop. I was nominated by the lovely and talented Cheryl Hamilton, who found me on Pinterest.

The first part of the blog hop includes a recent project I’ve been working on.

Since Valentine’s Day will soon be here, I decided to create a few projects for my daughter’s teacher. The first time I saw the Tap Tap Tap stamp set, it reminded me of school with it’s alphabet stamp, so I went with it for my theme.

Blog Hop

I like how the typewrite looks, embossed in white on basic black cardstock.

It’s always nice to decorate the inside of the card, too.

Blog Hop 2

After I finished the card, I decorated a little 4 x 4 box I had leftover from an earlier tutorial, which you can find here.

It’s the perfect size to add a yummy treat for the teacher. I couldn’t stop there, so I made a matching coffee sleeve. I just traced a sleeve from my Starbucks cup for an easy, peasy decorated cup.

Now I’m all set to show the teacher how much I appreciate her. She is truly special and deserves equally special treats!

The next part of the Creative Blog Hop includes a few questions to answer:

1.What are you working on?

Well, I shared my most recent project. I am also working on a “Mommy & Me” Valentine’s Day class. Stay tuned for those fun projects!

2. How does your style differ from others in your genre?

I suppose I differ in that I try not to have one particular style. Because I have customers and class members with all different tastes, I try to appeal to many styles including vintage, clean and simple, and trendy.

3. Why do you create what you do?

I love to create! Ideas pop into my head much faster than I can make them. I think I’d need several lifetimes to make everything in my head! I also love to connect with people. Whether I’m sending a handmade greeting card, sending out my Stamp of the Month boxes, or creating samples for my monthly card making class, it’s all about the people in my life. Creating gives me the opportunity to be with others and show them I care.

4. How does your creative process work?

Ideas pop in to my head constantly. I might write them down or do a rough sketch. I make quite a mess as I quickly try to translate the idea into a completed project, sometimes working on several ideas at once. I have to take time to clean up, though, otherwise I get bogged down and can’t work as well.

Now I have the privilege of nominating two more people to carry on the Creative Blog Hop.

First of all, I am happy to nominate my dear friends Latoya Thomas. In 2013 I went to convention as a new demonstrator. I was completely hooked and kept thinking I needed to find someone close by who loved Stampin’ Up! as much as I do. Well, happily, she found me! LaToya contacted me about becoming a demonstrator a year ago and we became instant friends. She just started her very creative blog, Sapphire’s Stamping Choices– go check her out!

Next, I’m pleased to nominate Linda Vich, a demonstrator I found through Freshly Made Sketches. I really enjoy her blog, Linda Vich Creates, which is full of beautiful projects and great ideas. Be sure to go visit her!

Visit them both on February 9th to see what they are up to!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. May your day be filled with peace and joy and, of course, some time for crafting!

Happy stampin’ friends!

Michelle

  1. Michelle, Great job on the blog hop! That’s going to be a very happy teacher! I love that typewriter set and the letters! I think my favorite part of your card is the inside where you stapled the banners! Cute!

  2. Ohh Michelle, what a GREAT post filled with an abundancy of brilliance!

I love the card, inside and out. Adore the little box (I can imagine a little cupcake inside that – but that’s just me and my fantasy. lol). The coffee stirer and sleeve are so pretty – but not pretty in a sickly way. They have such wonderful designer look. The whole ‘set’ are very designery and ‘exclusive’ looking.

Congratulations on a really great blog hop read. A truly fabulous, informative, educational and best of all – an entertaining post.
Loved it … and you! ~ Cobs. x

  3. Michelle, you definitely have created the ultimate Valentine package here! Love that you used Tap, Tap, Tap (a favorite of mine as well!) and decorating the inside of the card with the border of letters is well suited to a teacher. I love the way you have “branded” each item to make them a cohesive and a sure to be treasured gift! You will be a hard act to follow on February 9!
