Recently, I had the amazing privilege of being invited to a tea party in honor of my mother’s 50 years of friendship with her best friend. It was heavenly. I wanted to create a very special thank you for the hostess, who loves all things pink and shabby chic.
I started with the fabulous music DSP and created this rose:
I then made a pinkalicious background, added lots of layers of paper and roughed up the edges with my fingernail and sprinkled it with dazzling diamonds glitter.
Or course, I couldn’t forget to make the inside pretty, too:
A few sparkly snowflakes, doily, and a vintage style bow added more detail. This was my first attempt at a shabby chic card, and I really enjoyed it.
So, what do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know your reaction to my first attempt with a pink shabby chic Christmas card and have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
Happy stampin’ friends!

Michelle, you have outdone yourself—this is simply magnificent! I love shabby chic and you have cornered the market on it here! Love how you chose the music paper and paired it with Blushing Bride. And you say this is your first try at shabby chic? We’ll have to hold onto our socks when you get some practice under your belt! Have a wonderful Christmas!
Wow, thank you Linda! Your lovely comment was like opening an early Christmas present. (And I may have teared up a bit from happiness!)
You did yourself proud! This gorgeous card is so precious! All of the details to this card. ..beautiful! !! I would hope the recipient frames this card and keeps it always!
Michelle – This is gorgeous. It deserves to be framed in a shadow box! I love the shabby chic look but always have troubles coming up with something nice. Yours is so prtety. Love the masked moon and all the layers and distressed edges.
I ditto everything the first commenter said. Your card is just gorgeous and I guess we will have to take your word on that first attempt thing, but it just shows your great talent and creativity. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas and that you and your family have a happy and healthy New Year.
This is simply amazing, I agree this should be displayed, it’s a work of art!
