Last month I tried a new painting technique and I owe a huge thank you to my fellow Artisan Design Team member, Connie Collins, who introduced it to me in a February blog hop.
The method? Painting with rubbing alcohol and re-inkers!
If you have never tried this method, it is incredible. The colors are much more vibrant and the rubbing alcohol drys quickly, allowing you to pass over an area more often than when using water.
To make it easy, I purchased a plastic artists’ pallet at the craft store and used the paint spots to add a few drops of the re-inkers. Afterwards, the plastic washed off easily and the ink left no stains. I filled my aqua painter with rubbing alcohol and painted in the Calypso Coral first and then added the So Saffron.
I enjoyed painting this way so much, I added some blended blooms to the inside of the card, too.
So, what do you think?
Have you had a chance to try this technique for painting gorgeous flowers? Leave me a comment and let me know. I love hearing from you!
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your day is filled with much happiness and, or course, time to craft.
Happy stampin’ friends!
Michelle

This is a beautiful card, Michelle. I love how the ink is so transparant on the news print dsp. I’m going to have to try this technique soon.
Thank you, Sandy! I think you will have so much fun with this technique!
Really pretty, Michelle! Being an Artisan has brought out the very best in your creativity! Have you thought about making a video? 🙂
Thank you so much, Patricia! And yes, I definitely want to start doing videos. That is one of my short term goals. Homeschooling and two year old wrangling keeps getting in my way, though.
Oh my gosh Michelle, I love what you did on this card. What a great idea on how you did this. I wish there was a way I could pin this from my Emai to my Pinterest board. You sent another one I was trying to find on pinterest and I had to save it to my Email. Great job! Love this….I have the Birthday blooms but not he stamp you used. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful card. Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see what you make next. You are very creative and that is why you are part of the Artisian team. take care, Debbie Reed
That is so kind, thank you, Debbie! This technique is perfect for the Birthday Blooms stamp. Also, I am looking into changing my blog so that I can have more features, including a pin button on email photos. It may take awhile, but that is one of my goals.
beautiful, Michelle! I used this same tech w the Timeless Elegance paper. However, you always take things to the next level!!!
Oh, I bet that was so pretty on the Timeless Elegance paper. Thank you Debra for the kind words and for a great idea!
Really pretty Michelle!
Thank you Linda!
WOW! WOW! WOW! Absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you. I’m so glad you like it!
Michelle your creation is the best!! I would sure like to try it…. I do have that stamp which I do love! Mine will not turn out like yours tho’! Ha!
Thank you Rosalie! I just know you will love trying this technique.
Ohhh Michelle, I love this card!
There’s something so ….so … very ‘work of art’ about it. It’s the sort of card which they’d sell in one of those posh, modern art galleries!
Well done on such beautiful card. A true work of heart.

That means so much to me, Cobs, thank you!
Michelle, I had to comment again after trying this technique—it rocks! Your post came at just the right time for me and gave me a great idea for a card. I’d love for you to take a look: http://lvcre8s123.blogspot.ca/2016/04/birthday-blooms-for-kylie-bertuccis.html
