More Fun With the Lift Me Up Bundle

Hi friends! How are you?

Recently, you may have seen the March Stamp of the Month Club cards I designed for our club members with the Lift Me Up Bundle by Stampin’ Up!.

As I was creating these cards, I decided to “go all out” and create a special birthday card for a friend. I had so much fun adding layers of ribbon and decorative paper. Here is a close up of the details:

My hubby pointed out that the frayed ribbon has the look of blowing in the wind- exactly the look I was going for!

Gorgeous (Free!) Glimmer

Hi friends! How are you today?

Here is one of the cards we made last night at a workshop. I just had to show off the gorgeous new Bermuda Bay glimmer paper. Just look at how it sparkles in the light!

This 6×6 glimmer paper comes in three gorges colors and is available free with a $50 purchase for just a little while longer. (While supplies last, so don’t miss out!)

Stampin’ Tip

1. The Lift Me Up Bundle comes with cute little clouds. You can add interest with a sponge dauber and your stamp pad. Just sponge a little color on the edges- so cute!

2. Pair the Cupcakes and Carousels 6×6 dsp with the Lift Me Up Bundle for really fun cards.

3. Want an easy trick for gluing intricate dies? Use a silicone mat! Put a dab of multipurpose glue on the mat. Place the die on the mat, upside-down. Use a sponge to pick up a little glue (not too much!) and sponge all over the back, being careful to not shift the die. Now you can glue it down. Use wet wipes to quickly clean your mat. Viola!

4. Want to step this card up? Add the layers of color to the hot air balloon, under the glimmer paper.

P.S.

A sincere thanks to everyone who has been checking on my son. He has had four treatments of plasmapheresis and started talking again after 12 days of being unable to speak. He has one more treatment tomorrow and then they hope to send him home!

More Fun With Watercolors

cool-treats-stampin365-com-2

Hello friends! How are you today?

Here’s another fun watercolor card. Watercolor cards are all the rage right now, and I can’t seem to get enough lately. But since I have no watercolor skills, I need easy shortcuts.

Stampin’ Up! to the rescue!

cool-treats-2-stampin365-com-2

For this technique, I turned to the Cool Treats stamp set. For the popsicles, I stamped them in bold colors and then added a little bit of water with my aqua painter to make them look watercolored. So easy! (One tip is to not over do the water or they will bleed and lose their shape. Just a little bit of water does the trick.)

After they were dry, I took the ink pads, squished ink into the lids, picked it up with my aqua painter and splattered it on the background. I made masks for the popsicles first, so they would stay splatter free.

I’m crazy about this bright color combo!

The days are gray and dreary here in Oregon, so a fun, bright card seemed a perfect way to bring a little cheer. I hope you have a chance to work with this fun stamp set- it is just too cute!

Happy stampin’ friends!

Michelle

P.S.

Once again, I am posting from the hospital. Our son has taken a turn for the worse and they are now trying a therapy called plasmapheresis, which filters his blood for antibodies. The treatments will be every other day for 10 days and his first treatment was yesterday. We are hopeful that this will help him finally recover.

So many of you have supported up through kind words, mail and prayers and I can not tell you how much it helps! Every time I feel like I can’t possibly watch him go through one more second of this, someone reaches out in kindness or prayer and my hope is restored. Thank you one and all for that!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

valentine-stampin365-com

Hi friends!

Just a quick post today to say Happy Valentine’s Day and share a super easy card with you. This layout could easily be used for a wedding or anniversary card, just change the colors. (I was picturing silver and white.) Even a baby card would be cute- just add the word baby to the love and use pink or blue. Cute!

My son is back home after another hospital stay and we are so happy to have him back. I spent my days with him at the hospital, so being home is like a breathe of fresh air.

I’m busy getting the Stamp of the Month Club boxes ready to mail out and creating the cards for March’s club- so be sure to come back soon!

Happy stampin’ friend!

A CASE Project Using Sealed With Love

case-valenitne-3-stampin365-com

Hi friends, how are you today?

Usually, I only put my own original projects on my blog, but when I saw this card by Satomi Wellard, using the Sealed With Love bundle, I just had to make it and share it with you!

case-valentine-2-stampin365-com

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything, and I just love the way fellow demonstrators share their creativity. Be sure to go check out Satomi’s blog for lots more inspiration!

I had not seen the idea of turning the hearts so the other side of the paper shows, and I think it is brilliant- thank you Satomi! You can see her original post here.

So, would you like to know the trick she thought of to turn the hearts?

Start with your die cut, like this:

case-valentine-4-stampin365-com

Next, pinch the hearts up, creasing them well from both the front and the back.

case-valentine-5-stampin365-com

Once you have pinched them up, you can gently turn them. They do rip, so be careful! (This video is too dark and you can hear my little guy asking about the jingle bells he found in my craft room, but I just had to show you how it works!)

So clever of her, right?!?

If you are interested in joining this creative group of demonstrators who love what they do and share what they love, contact me today- I WANT YOU ON OUR TEAM!

Happy stampin’ friend!

Michelle

P.S.

Stamp of the Month Club boxes will mail out on the 15th- a huge thank you to all of our club members!

Watercolor Pencils- Almost Gone!

watercolor-pencils-3-stampin365-com

Hello friends! How are you today?

The Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog has been incredibly popular and one of the hottest new items is almost gone: watercolor pencils. If you have not had a chance to try these, they are a must have!

watercolor-pencils-2-stampin365-com

For this card, I used the free Sale-A-Bration paper called Inside the Lines and my aqua painter to blend the watercolor pencils. I fussy cut a few flowers for texture and added a bit of shimmer to the wings with Wink of Stella.

Would you like some great tips on how to use watercolor pencils? Watch this video with Shannon West from Stampin’ Up!

These watercolor pencils are going fast, so be sure to pick yours up before they are gone!

Happy stampin’ friends!

blooms-and-wishes-2-stampin365-com-2

Hello friends! How are you today?

The stamp of the Month Club is finally back! A huge thank you to all of our club members for being so understanding and gracious as I took time to care for my son these past couple months. Your support, thoughts, and prayers have truly meant so much and helped to get me through some very dark days. Now our days are full of hope and he continues to recover, which means…

I have time and energy to make stuff- yay! February’s club features the beautiful Blooms and Wishes stamp set:

blooms-and-wishes-stampin365-com

Have you heard about the Stamp of the Month Club here at Stampin’ 365? The beautiful watercolor florals look great in the colors below, or club members can use the colors of their choice. After stamping the images on watercolor paper, I used my aqua painter to pull the color out. This fun watercolor technique is completely optional. The images look gorgeous with or without this technique.
