More Easy Valentines with My Digital Studio

Swedish Fish Valentine

Here’s another fun and easy Valentine made with My Digital Studio. If you’ve been following along, this is the third choice for my “Mommy and Me” class on Sunday, and it’s perfect for four and five year olds.

The treat sack has a circle of white cardstock painted with a blue “Dab Paint Marker.” These markers usually come in a pack of four colors and are available in toy stores and most craft stores. After the paint was thoroughly dry, I slipped it into the circular treat sack and added Swedish Fish.

The tag was made with My Digital Studio and I didn’t have to buy any extra digital files because it came with everything shown here. I simply chose the tag I wanted, added the fish, a text box and some bubbles and I was done! I tied it to the treat sack with some real red ribbon for an adorable little class Valentine.

Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve 6

I had so much fun creating these custom invitations with My Digital Studio and fancy gold foil vellum covers.

Here is the invitation:

New Year's Eve 7

I also created matching cupcake toppers:

New Year's Eve

To go along with the invitation to “Ring in the New Year” I created jingle bell wands for the kids:

New Year's Eve 5

I must say, jingle bells are much easier on the ears than party horns or party blowers!

I alos had fun with the new treat sack die, available January 6th. I saw the idea for “Midnight Kisses” on Pinterest and tweak it to match my theme:

New Year's Eve 3

I also could not resist making mini party hats out of the cardboard cones crochet thread comes on.

New Year's Eve 4

I even covered wooden numbers from the craft store with gold glimmer paper. My kindergartener had fun helping me paint the edges gold first.

New year's Eve 2

I truly hope your 2015 is one that is full of good health, a peaceful heart, a joyful spirit and lots of stampin’ friends!

Happy New Year!

Setting The Table With My Digital Studio

Christmas Table 5

Before I discovered My Digital Studio, I spent quite a bit of time and money on Etsy, purchasing printable files for my holiday celebrations.

My Digital Studio has changed all of that.

Now, whether it’s our annual Christmas card, gift tags, invitations, banners, decor, or place settings, I can create everything myself, exactly the way I want it and with ease.

This beautiful chalkboard tag file was only $3.95 and I just love how it looks with the red dishes and burlap runner.

And look at what a perfect match the Cherry Cobbler ribbon is for those dishes!

Of course, I couldn’t forget a little gift at each place.

Christmas Table 4

I have always loved setting the table and now, with My Digital Studio, I love it even more.

Chalkboard Fun for Freshly Made Sketches

FMS 167

I recently purchased the digital download “To You From Me” and I am in love. It is a charming collection of chalkboard style labels and gift tags- so cute! The round one was the perfect piece to create a card for this week’s challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is Narelle’s lovely sketch:

FMS 167 Sketch

I just love the chalkboard tags. Come back later this week to see my Christmas table all decked out with chalkboard label napkin rings!

FMS 167 2

Tips:

I’m sure I’m not the first to think of it, but I wanted to create holly leaves so I realized I could punch out an oval and then punch around the edges with a small circle punch. I then used a dauber to darken the edges.

Even though the sketch is a rectangle, I decided to make mine a square. It just seems to work for this card.

Supplies:

Here’s what I used to create this card. You can order these items from my online store by clicking on any of the images.

I hope you are well and having a happy holiday season. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Crafting With Kids- Peppermint Patty Snowmen

peppermint patty snowman

My littlest one loves to “do crafts with mommy” and today we carved out time to make one of these little snowmen for every child in her class. ( She is in a little independent school where the sentiment “Merry Christmas” is welcome.) I used My Digital Studio for the tag. Here is a close up:

peppermint patty snowman 2

She dutifully, and I must say very happily, glued on all of the circle punches and drew in the faces and buttons. The hats were a bit harder, so I worked on those. We then glued them to red cardstock, slid them into goodie bags and added the little tags. We had so much fun.

And don’t they look cute, each one with a it’s own personality?

Thanks for stopping by- I’m “snow” glad you did!

Happy stampin’ friends,

My Digital Studio To The Rescue

Lunch Surprise

I have a mom confession to make: I dread making lunches. I have been mothering for over 18 years and making exciting lunches that my kids want to eat has always felt like a daunting task. I see Pinterest photos of little bento boxes filled with pandas who have little pillows and blankies made out of delicious food and I don’t feel inspired. Quite frankly, I feel exhausted.

Recently, while reading a story book about a mother who filled her little one’s lunch box with tiny notes, my kindergartener asked the inevitable question:

“Mommy, why don’t you do that?”

Instead of listing a million reasons why, I asked “Would you like it if I did that?”

“Oh, yes, mommy. I really would.”

Well I can do that, I thought. Because, while making Pinterest worthy lunches may not be my thing, creating things out of paper is.

Once again, My Digital Studio came to the rescue. I had some leftover tags printed up from the Hooray For Tags collection. I cut out this one with the adorable little sweet potato, wrote a quick note on the back, and stuck it in her lunch box.

It really was just a small thing, so quick and easy, but she loved it, saving it with her other treasures. Bento pandas may be out of my league, but adorable sweet potatoes are just a few clicks away, thinks to My Digital Studio. This mama really loves that.

A Teacher Gift With My Digital Studio

Pencil close up 2

I love my daughter’s kindergarten teacher. She is simply amazing. When I wanted the perfect gift to show how much I appreciate her, I thought of these adorable pencils made from a pack of Rolos. They are all over Pinterest, and I have no idea who was clever enough to invent them- but I’m in LOVE! I paired my pencil with a classic composition notebook, created the perfect tag to match with My Digital Studio, tied it with real red ribbon, and was all set with a fun gift in almost no time!

Pencil close up 1

I wanted a little saying to go with the pencil- so I thought of this one. I had to make a text box for each line so that the words would be in the right place on the lined paper background. After spending 18 years as a teacher myself, I still love “teachery” things, and this made me so happy to create!
