Christmas Tag Class

Recently, I was thrilled to be asked to donate a Christmas Tag Class to a local auction. Talk about a fun class to design. I was like a little kid in a candy store!

The new Holiday Catalog was not yet available to order from, so I designed this class with some of the AMAZING Christmas items in the Annual Catalog.

Each guest will create 20 gift tags that will be presented in this adorable plastic mason jar from www.thesugardiva.com. I’m crazy for that ribbon and those tiny boxwood wreaths! They literally made me squeal the first time I saw them.

And this reindeer? Too cute!

Don’t you just love the shape of the pretty label punch? Gorgeous!

To display the tags, I placed a piece of DSP, scored into a triangle, in the center of the jar and taped the linen thread ties to the inside of the triangle. (I got that idea from a jar of tags I bought at Target last year. Brilliant!)

The DSP insert really helps all the tags to show nicely and this project would be perfect for gift giving.

There are five tag designs all together and class members will create four of each.

In the excitement of the new Holiday Catalog, don’t forget that Stampin’ Up! has a large collection of gorgeous Christmas designs to choose from in the Annual Catalog.

Maybe some of these sets are already in your own collection. Which one is your favorite? (Complete supply list below.)

Happy stampin’ friends!

Michelle

Lemon Zest Tags

Hello friends! How are you today?

One of my favorite things to create is tags. Each month I create a tag to coordinate with our Stamp of the Month Club. For our August Club, I was inspired by a gorgeous stair case in an Italian restaurant. Just lookout at these hand painted tiles!

With this photo as my inspiration and the beautiful Lemon Zest stamp set, I designed these cards for our club members:

Once the club boxes were put together, I set to work designing a gift tag as a small token of appreciation to our club members. The Lemon Zest stamp set by Stampin’ Up! makes creating fun designs a cinch!

Don’t they look pretty, all piled up and ready to mail out?

As I write this blog post, my state is under a thick blanket of smoke and our city has an advisory that the smoke is so heavy, we should stay indoors. The health hazard is so high, many school have canceled the first day tomorrow.

As we struggle to deal with the smoke, and many residents are forced to flee their homes, I am also reminded of all the dear people affected by hurricanes and flooding. There is so much devastation right now! If you are affected by any of the devastation, please know I hold you in my heart and prayers!

With much love,

Michelle

An Update

Hi friends! Boy, has my blog been quiet lately! My apologies, but are you ready for the reason?

All of my kids are happy and healthy and we are enjoying our summer!

This time last year, our daughter had life saving open heart surgery, our youngest was recovering from a surgery to repair a minor birth defect and our oldest son was in the hospital with a brutal illness that doctors could not solve. It lasted 10 long, nightmarish months. We were told he would most likely never talk or swallow again and he did not even know his own name.

But,

An army of people responded with cards and meals and prayers and he is 100% better now!

He is truly a living miracle. Did I tell you that I placed my hand on his chest and called his name when he stopped breathing three different times, and three different times the response team at the hospital swooped in and helped him start breathing again. The news just kept getting worse. He lost the ability to talk or swallow and had excruciating muscle tremors that shook his whole body. Now, he is talking about finally starting college in the fall and he is really loving life. I call him the man of steal.

The photo above was taken at the 5k that Thomas and I ran together. What a day that was. My boy, talking my leg off just like he used to. My joy was overflowing.

To all of you who reached out in support, thank you. A thousand thank yous, in fact. Every message, every card, every prayer meant the world to me and helped to light the way when I had no idea how to keep going.

Along with enjoying the summer with my kids, I’m also busy designing the September Stamp of the Month Club and a Christmas Tag Class To Go, and if you have ever placed an order with me, your Holiday Catalog is on the way! (They are going by bulk mail and take awhile to arrive, so don’t worry if yours has not arrived yet.)

Happy stampin’ friends!

Lots of Love Tags

Hi friends, how are you today?

Here are some tags I made this month for our Stamp of the Month Club members. It’s so much fun to design a tag each month. These took a little longer because of all the fussy cutting, but those layered flowers were worth it, don’t you think?

And that shimmer ribbon- isn’t it so pretty?

For these cards, I stamped it on watercolor paper and used my aqua painter to blend the color. You can see the Lemon Zest bundle in the link below. The club comes with the stamp set option, the punch would cost extra and can be added on.

Thank You Tags With Swirly Scribbles

Hi friends! How are you today?

Here is a recent gift tag I created for our June Stamp of the Month Club members. The versatility of the Swirly Scribbles dies is wonderful. I got the idea for this lollipop from Michele Reynolds when I did a google search. You can see her beautiful card, which inspired me to create these tags here.

Creating a tag for each of our club members is something I look forward to every month. It’s one way I can show my appreciation and hopefully brighten their day!

Don’t they look pretty, all lined up and ready to mail out? Happy mail is my specialty!

P.S.

For those of you who have been sending kind words, prayers and thoughts about my oldest son, who became deathly ill on August first, he has had a really great week. The doctor is still stumped as to what is exactly wrong with him, but he said the episodes he goes through are called “storms” perhaps autonomic storms. The episodes can become an emergency very quickly and it is a frightening way to live, but this week has been good. (And when it is bad, I get to practice my new motto- “Hallelujah, regardless.”)
