Oh, Happy Day!

Oh, Happy Day www.stampin365

Hi friends, how are you?

Thank you all for being a part of my Stampin’ up! community. I started this blog last June and it has been such a wonderful experience getting to know all of you here. I love sharing crafting with you!

I have big news today. I will be taking a short break from blogging to focus on our NEWLY ADOPTED SON! We are overjoyed to welcome another child into our family and I am going to put my crafting aside and just be mommy for awhile. (Is there any more important job in all the world?) I plan to get back to my blog on May 20th.

Here are a few things to know:

1. The new annual catalog comes out June 2nd. Can I get a woot woot?!? If you have ordered from me by April 29, 2015, you will automatically receive a FREE copy in the mail when it comes out June 2nd. If you place an online order with me after April 29th, you will still receive a FREE catalog, but I will need to mail it to you myself, as our catalog mailing selector closes while I am taking my vacation. (Please note that I do not receive names and contact information for customers who check out as guests. Therefore, I am unable to send out free catalogs to these customers.)

2. If you are in my Stamp of the Month club, your kit will still be mailed on the first of May (or possibly sooner) and I will email you to let you know it is on the way.

3. You can shop online for fabulous Stampin’ Up! products 24/7 at: http://www.stampinforu.stampinup.net and your items will be shipped straight to your door!

4. I will not be answering comments, calls, texts or emails from April 29th to May 20th, 2015.

Thanks again to all who share in my blog-

I’ll look forward to coming back on May 18.

Until then…

Happy stampin’ friends!

Michelle

P.S.

Just in case you need the stampin’ supplies for the card above:

A CASED Card- Crazy About You!

Hello Sunshine Card

Awhile back, I found a beautiful card on Pinterest by Elizabeth Price and I decided to CASE it. (If you haven’t heard the term, is stands for Copy and Share Everything.) You can find her beautiful card here.

This technique is called watercolor wicking. The flowers were stamped on watercolor paper and then spritzed with water, which wicks the ink and gives a soft effect.

The stamp set, called Crazy About You, is so versatile and I have found myself reaching for it again and again. My April Stamp of the Month Club, which will mail out on April 1st includes this set.

Another Card For Freshly Made Sketches

FMS 172

Well, between a very sick little girl (it’s pneumonia) and a very sick dog (it’s a bacterial infection) I have not had time to post this card I made for Freshly Made Sketches earlier this week. Thankfully, antibiotics are mightily at work, and things seem to be headed back to health at our house.

Have I mentioned before how much I love Freshly Made Sketches? I had been wanting to use the flower from “Crazy About You” with the “Best Year Ever”paper and when I saw this week’s sketch, instantly I  knew what I was going to do.

The lovely sketch by Linda is so versatile:

I put the flower where the big heart is. This flower is so easy to make with the Flower Medallion Punch. The center of the flower is the Hello Honey Quilted Cotton Ribbon, frayed with the fringe scissors, rolled up and inserted through a hole in the center.

The little round postmark from Butterfly Basics is perfect where the little heart in the sketch is and the colors in the Best Year Ever paper are just so pretty.

Hubby is slowly but surely teaching me photography, which is almost as much fun as stamping. This week’s lesson: the Bokeh technique. What do you think?

Be sure to check out Freshly Made Sketches for lots of beautiful design inpiration. Also, don’t forget about the creative blog hop. I nominated LaToya and Linda for Monday’s post. Be sure to go see what they’ve been up to. It’s always so much fun to see their creativity at work!

A Baby Card For Freshly Made Sketches

Baby Card For FMS

Have you been over to Freshly Made Sketches lately? Tuesday I woke up to find I had been selected as one of their “Perfect Princesses” and I could not have been more thrilled! I just love all of the beautiful ideas the designers have each week, not to mention the new sketch challenge. Here is this week’s sketch by Amy:

I especially loved this sketch because I am not very good at placing things at an angle, so it was nice to go outside my comfort zone. I ended up loving how the dsp looks at an angle. I will be using this style again!

One thing I find interesting is that I thought of placing the hearts going across the card and created it yesterday before seeing a gorgeous card on the challenge today that uses the same idea, but going the other direction. Can you spot which one I’m referring to? That has happened to me more than once. In fact, once I created a card that was so similar to another card someone else created (without seeing their card first) that I decided not to enter it in the challenge. Hopefully this one is different enough to still enter!

I hope your day is filled with love and joy and definitely some time for crafting!

A Sneak Peak for Pals Paper Arts

PPA 232

Even though we are so close to Christmas, I just had to play with some of the wonderful sets from my Sale-A-Bration pre-order today. This card features two of the lovely paper packs and yummy ribbon you can earn for free starting January 6th, as well as delightful new dies, stamps and embellishments. I can’t wait for you to see the new Occasions Catalog- it’s one of my most favorites EVER!

The layout comes from a sketch challenge over at Pals Paper Arts. I just love this sketch:

Sale-A-Bration gets me so excited because for every $50 you spend, you earn an exclusive stamp set, embellishment set or paper pack for free. If you have placed an order with me in the past two years, you will automatically receive the Sale-A-Bration Brochure and Occasions Catalog when they come out in January. So exciting!

Now I’m off to get a few things checked off my to do list. Hope you are well and happy.

Happy stampin’ friends!
