A sincere thanks to everyone who has been checking on my son. He has had four treatments of plasmapheresis and started talking again after 12 days of being unable to speak. He has one more treatment tomorrow and then they hope to send him home!

Stampin’ Tips:

  • For a personal touch, this card can easily be made in the wedding colors.
  • When cutting out the thinlets, the Precision Base Plate is a must.
  • After running the dies through your Big Shot, use the Die Brush to easily remove your cutouts.
  • Add a bit of sparkle to the word and the flower with Clear Wink of Stella.
  • Don’t forget about the Designer Series Paper Stacks. They are a great value and add the perfect touch to all you projects, including your 12 x 12 scrapbook pages.

Many of you have sent heartfelt thoughts and prayers for our youngest and his surgery- thank you! It has been a difficult recovery, but last night he sleep all night for the first time since the surgery last Tuesday. Hooray! He has one more week of not being able to get up and he is only three, so if you think of us, say a little prayer!

Also, for those of you keeping track of our daughter’s heart condition, she has open heart surgery scheduled for the 5th of August. Your thoughts and prayers would be very much appreciated for a successful surgery and smooth recovery time, thank you!

For All Things- Not Just for Fall!

For All Things

Versatile stamp sets are a wonderful addition to any stamper’s collection, and the “For All Things” stamp set is just that. At first glance, it appears to be limited to only the fall season, and I made some lovely fall cards with this set, but the creative possibilities don’t stop when fall is over. Today, I chose spring colors and added tiny flowers, pearls, and crochet trim for a feminine, cheerful look.

For All Things 2

This lovely set from the Holiday catalog will only be available until January 5th, but it can easily be use throughout the year for a variety of occasions.

Here is a supply list, including the stamp set. Click on any item for easy, secure online shopping.

Blended Bloom

Blossom Card

For today’s card, I used the gorgeous “blended bloom” stamp. I am so in love with this stamp! It was designed to go with the new blendabilities markers, but it can be used so many other fun ways, as well! Although I did not submit it, this was one of five cards I created with this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 147 J

Tips: I embossed the blended bloom stamp in white and then sponged on the ink with daubers. The leaves where folded in half and run through the Big Shot with the woodgrain texture. (A technique I learned from the talented Frenchie at Frenchiestamps.) The splatter effect was done with a stamp from the old Paper Pumpkin welcome kit, but the same effect could be achieved with the gorgeous grunge stamp set. (You can ink a smaller portion of the stamp by just applying ink to one corner.) Dimensionals help the flag and banner pop off the page.

50th Card

Recently, I ran in to a dear couple who mentioned they are about to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Fifty Years! What a beautiful testimony to the love of two people. This card is in honor of their special day.

I watched several tutorials on how to make these ribbon roses, so I’m not sure who to give the credit to, but this is so fun to make! Simply cut satin ribbon at one inch intervals and then use your heat tool to melt the edges. Once the edges were melted, I used the silicone craft sheet and hot glue, starting at the outside and working towards the center to form the rose. Be careful not to burn your fingers! For the antique brad, it started out silver, so I embossed it in gold with a versa mark pad and gold embossing powder. The branches were made with gold glimmer paper and the bird builder punch.

In this world full of suffering, today I celebrate a love that has lasted. May you, dear reader, know this golden love.

For You

For You Card

Today’s card incorporates one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! products (I know, I say just about every Stampin’ Up! product is my favorite), but one of my favorite favorites, is the antique brads. They add a gorgeous, vintage touch to any project.  For this card, I stuck with simple because I liked the way the brad stands out and echoes the round “For You” stamp. Here is a close up:

For you Card Close Up

And the very best thing about this card? The ribbon is a clearance item, normally $6.95 and on sale for $2.79! Yippee!

The card is 51/2″ by 41/4″. Run the front only through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder. Punch the hole in the card front using the 1-3/8″ circle punch. Stamp the “For You” sentiment and then punch it out with the 1-3/4″ circle punch. Using dimensionals cut in half, adhere the “For you” sentiment to the inside of the front cover, centered in the circle. Stamp the itty bitty “Thank You” banner and run it through the Big Shot with the matching framelit. Attach the “Thank You” banner with dimensionals. Tie the bow. Then use the piercing tool and piercing mat to pierce through the center of the bow and the card front. Attach the brad. The back of the brad will be inside the card. To cover up the back of the brad, adhere a piece of 51/4″ by 4″ whisper white cardstock on the inside front cover.

Everything Eleanor

Everything Eleanor

One of my favorite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets is called Everything Eleanor. It has been on my wish list for awhile now, and when I saw that it was in the new catalog, I had to order it. It did not disappoint! I love the delicate blossoms and large background stamp, and who can resist adding a little bird? Here is a close up view:

Everything Eleanor Close Up

The blossom was stamped twice, cut out, and put back together with a dimensional.  The little leaves are from the bird builder punch and the doily was tinted with Crumb Cake ink and a sponge dauber. The banner ends were made with my square punch, sponge daubed with the blushing bride ink, and then it was given life by gently pulling a bone folder along the ends. For the card base, the background was stamped first, and then it went through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.
