Blended Bloom & A New Technique

Blended Bloom 2 Stampin365

Last month I tried a new painting technique and I owe a huge thank you to my fellow Artisan Design Team member, Connie Collins, who introduced it to me in a February blog hop.

The method? Painting with rubbing alcohol and re-inkers!

If you have never tried this method, it is incredible. The colors are much more vibrant and the rubbing alcohol drys quickly, allowing you to pass over an area more often than when using water.

To make it easy, I purchased a plastic artists’ pallet at the craft store and used the paint spots to add a few drops of the re-inkers. Afterwards, the plastic washed off easily and the ink left no stains. I filled my aqua painter with rubbing alcohol and painted in the Calypso Coral first and then added the So Saffron.

I enjoyed painting this way so much, I added some blended blooms to the inside of the card, too.

So, what do you think?

Have you had a chance to try this technique for painting gorgeous flowers? Leave me a comment and let me know. I love hearing from you!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your day is filled with much happiness and, or course, time to craft.

Happy stampin’ friends!

Michelle
