More Fun With Watercolors

Hello friends! How are you today?

Here’s another fun watercolor card. Watercolor cards are all the rage right now, and I can’t seem to get enough lately. But since I have no watercolor skills, I need easy shortcuts.

Stampin’ Up! to the rescue!

For this technique, I turned to the Cool Treats stamp set. For the popsicles, I stamped them in bold colors and then added a little bit of water with my aqua painter to make them look watercolored. So easy! (One tip is to not over do the water or they will bleed and lose their shape. Just a little bit of water does the trick.)

After they were dry, I took the ink pads, squished ink into the lids, picked it up with my aqua painter and splattered it on the background. I made masks for the popsicles first, so they would stay splatter free.

I’m crazy about this bright color combo!

The days are gray and dreary here in Oregon, so a fun, bright card seemed a perfect way to bring a little cheer. I hope you have a chance to work with this fun stamp set- it is just too cute!

Happy stampin’ friends!

Once again, I am posting from the hospital. Our son has taken a turn for the worse and they are now trying a therapy called plasmapheresis, which filters his blood for antibodies. The treatments will be every other day for 10 days and his first treatment was yesterday. We are hopeful that this will help him finally recover.

So many of you have supported up through kind words, mail and prayers and I can not tell you how much it helps! Every time I feel like I can’t possibly watch him go through one more second of this, someone reaches out in kindness or prayer and my hope is restored. Thank you one and all for that!

A Fun Watercolor Technique

Hi friends, how are you today?

Here is a tag I created for our February Stamp of the Month Club members, using the Blooms and Wishes stamp set, watercolor paper and an aqua painter.

I just love this easy watercolor technique. Simply stamp your image and while the ink is still wet, use your aqua painter to pull the color out. After it has dried completely, you can add the flower centers and a sentiment. Another tip is to let each color dry completely before stamping the next color, otherwise the two colors will run together.

Have you had a chance to try this technique? Leave us a comment and let us know how you liked it. It’s so much fun to hear form you- you’re the reason I love to share!

Happy stampin’ friend!
